Isla de El Hierro, (Santa cruz de Tenerife)     The Island of El Hierro, has a surface of 287 km2 and it is the smallest of the seven islands of the Canaries. Has a population of 10,162 inhabitants according to ISTAC and the most western island of the whole archipelago. Its inhabitants are called herreños/as. The centre of the island is formed by a high mountain the peak Malpaso with 1,501 metres.
