| The Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean (off the northwestern coast of Africa), are an Autonomous Community within the Kingdom of Spain, its Capital shared by its two more important cities: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It is formed by seven main islands: Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro, Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, Province of Las Palmas plus six minor (small) islands (Alegranza, Graciosa, Montaña Clara, Lobos, Roque del Este and Roque del Oeste) and several small islands or islets (Anaga, Salmor, Garachico). Its climate is subtropical oceanic, with mild climate and very poor rain.
